In addition to developing Macintosh, Windows and iOS software under contract for software companies, Software MacKiev publishes its own consumer and education software titles including HyperStudio® (Acquired from Sunburst Technologies in 2007) and Kid Pix® (Acquired from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in 2011). The company also publishes selected titles under license from World Book, Inc. and Riverdeep, Inc. The company's most popular software products include:

Software MacKiev's The Print Shop has won several awards, including MacEddy for Best Family Graphics App from MacWorld, Best of Show awards at Macworld NY 2003 and Macworld Boston 2005.

In 2003, World Book Multimedia Encyclopedia for Mac OS X won an Apple Design Award for Best Mac OS X Technology Adoption, and was runner-up for Best Mac OS X Product of the year.

In 2004, Kid Pix Deluxe 3X won Best of Show award at Macworld San Francisco.

In 2005, Software MacKiev released the first product of their own, 3D Weather Globe & Atlas, which was chosen as runner up for Best Mac OS X User Experience at the 10th annual Apple Design Awards.

In 2010, Software MacKiev introduced Kid Pix Deluxe 3D, which won an Editor's Choice Award for Excellence in Design from Children's Software Review, and a Parent's Choice Silver Award.
